Not what it used to be.,
This review is from: RCA AH16100SR 100 Ft. 16-Gauge Speaker Wire (Electronics)
I have purchased this wire in the past for my home audio and it was fine. I just received a new shipment and it is no longer copper wire! It is now copper clad aluminum. Just to make sure I checked the old wire and it was copper last time I purchased it.
Amazon should clear all the old reviews as this is not the same product.

Everything looks identical until you cut the wire. The ends where they are cut will be silver if it is aluminum. I also scraped the wire with a knife to confirm, it was definitely aluminum.

Walter Wu says:
I agree with flpc. Although the actual wire has the same label as the Amazon pictured wire, the actual wire is clearly aluminum and has a different appearance than in the Amazon picture (i.e. a thinner PVC jacket). This current RCA 14 gauge wire is clearly different from the 14 gauge wire that RCA previously offered. Even earlier versions of the original RCA wire came on a spool with a black and purple label that specifically stated that it was oxygen-free copper and it had a much thicker PVC jacket (in wire parlance, SPT-3). I bought the earlier wire from Home Depot a few years and have been looking for the same wire ever since, and was disappointed when I found it was no longer available (I confirmed this on the RCA accessories website). They must have transitioned to the newer, inferior wire over the last few years.

Was afraid of that, given that 'copper' is no-where-to-be-found in the description!!
Nor CCA, for that matter! This is unacceptable, imo!
I agree with 'flpc' that older reviews should definitely be scrapped!!
