Operating instructions for the friend,
This review is from: Operating Instructions: A Journal of My Son's First Year (Ballantine Reader's Circle) (Paperback)
I found this book to be very helpful to me as someone who does not have children. Many of my friends have children and I now have a different perspective of what they went through during the first years with their children. Lamott is so real, honest, and illustrative in her stories that I think most people who have been around children can relate. This is a great gift not only for mothers, but also for those who do not have children yet and what they can expect as first-time mothers. Although Lamott's perspective is from a woman, this would be a good read for new dads too!
