1.0 out of 5 stars Why have a power switch?, April 11, 2013
This review is from: SiriusXM SXABB2 Portable Speaker Dock (DISCONTINUED BY MANUFACTURER) (Electronics)
I turned this on after setting it up and putting in the 8 c cell batteries required. What they fail to tell you is that every time you power off you have to remove the batteries.I turned the unit off and 3 days later tried to turn it on,but the $16.00 dollars worth of batteries were dead as a doornail!!! Seems bizarre to have to remove batteries everytime you turn the thing off!Even small transistors from the 60's didn't require that!

Did the instruction indicate the need to remove the batteries?

in small print the manual stated not to leave the batteries in for an extended time. I called and spoke to tech. support and was told I had to remove batteries when not in use! Unbelievable! What a flaw! I bought this especially to use it with batteries, and with this inconvenience I'll probably never use it.

I'm not sure but I'd bet that the antenna uses power to amplify the signal which would require the removal of batteries. Surprised the mfgr couldn't install a cutoff switch.

We supposedly put a man on the moon! A transistor radio from the early 60's had a cutoff switch! Amazing.
