This review is from: Scott Westerfeld: Uglies Quartet: Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras (The Uglies) (Kindle Edition)
The books were absolutely amazing. They truely reminded me why I am a Westerfeld fan. I got the quartet on my Kindle, however, and was severely disappointed in the quality of the digital transcription. It was HORRIBLY proofread, with hundreds of missing periods, randomly placed hy-phens (ser-iously, it was this hor-rible,) equally random slashes where periods\ commas\ or colons should have been, missed line breaks (dialog from diferent characters in the same paragraph without even a space separating the quatations, and worst of all, all four books were in the same file (which was fine with me, it made going from one book to the next seamless) but they put Extras (book 4) ahead of Specials (book 3.) It was apparant that the publishers outsourced the transcription of the Kindle copy to a low quality firm in stead of doing it themselves. Definitely a recommended read for anyone who wants to get the hard copies, but for your own sake, avoid the quartet package on digital readers!!!

I agree!! It's a good thing this is a great series, otherwise the AWFUL transcription and number of errors would have been unbearable. Also, as mentioned above, the fact that the books were in the wrong order was extremely obnoxious... especially due to the fact that the books are just one big file, so you have to scroll through the entire 4th book to get to the third, and then back through the 3rd and 4th to get to the beginning of "extras". If you can get past all of the technical errors, this is a great read!!
