Straight talk from an industry leader,
This review is from: Flip the Funnel: How to Use Existing Customers to Gain New Ones (Hardcover)
It's a Joe Jaffe book, so you know you are going to get the following:
The truth - plain, simple, cold and hard. Joe isn't here to tell you what you want to hear, he's here to tell you what you need to hear. In Flip the Funnel Jaffe provides a wealth of information, via case studies and his own well-earned experience, that is quite literally essential not just for today, but for tomorrow as well.
There's a lot to chew on in this book. Unlike a lot of business books I've read recently, this is one you're going to want to hang on to and re-read. Jaffe has done a nice job of taking a premise - leverage the power of the customer - and pulling it all the way through so the reader really understands the power of the idea and the multiple facets it contains.
I enjoyed the book and found it enlightening, but I did find some of the illustrations a bit tough. In places, rather than traditional graphics the editor (and author) has chosen to go with free-hand drawings. I found these a bit tough to read at times, but again the concepts themselves were strong. I felt their impact was muted a bit with this technique.
There are a lot of business books out there right now, you could literally spend all day, every day for a year (or two) reading them. But a select few are worth your time. This is one of those books because it focuses on a truth (make customer service your competitive advantage) rather than a gimmick.
Nice job, Joe.
