Truly Great Inspiration for Authors and Publishers,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)

If there is one defining thing I took away from reading Earn More, Work Less, Get Famous by Simon Hodgkinson is the inspiration it has given me as a not-so-experienced author.
I wrote and published a hobby book a few years ago and always wanted to write more. I am now fired up to do so after going through Simon's Kindle book.
I actually read it twice in 2 separate sittings. It's easy to read and he has a way of getting a point across fast and effectively.
His step-by-step approach - from choosing a hot topic or trend to creating the ebook to promoting it effectively - has enough meat to satisfy any writer wanting to produce a great Kindle ebook.
For example he shows how to use keyword research and Survey Monkey to identify topics in demand; his "Ride the Coat Tails of Popular Products" technique is a great lesson on leverage and adding value to already successful products.
For many with the zeal and knowledge but who don't see themselves as writers (often a barrier to achieving authorship and perhaps potential fame) Simon shows how you can get experts to do the writing for you...even for free!
Turning to pricing, a touchy subject for many publishers, Earn More, Work Less, Get Famous shows how publishing stars such as John Locke price their Kindle books.
I like his tactic of first introducing a Kindle book at 99 cents in order to create interest and demand, then increasing the price (to perhaps 2.99) after an ebook is established.
Simon also presents very practical and proven tactics for promoting. He shows how to leverage influential bloggers and niche forums. Or, if you want to pay for advertising in order to produce immediate results, he presented several well-known advertising sites.
I really like his tip on creating your book with 'talk'. Yes, instead of writing or typing, simply talk your book into existence using special speak interface software.
But the biggest take away strategy was left for last - how to create multiple streams of income from those who bought your Kindle book.
He shows how to get your customers to buy other books and products of their interest while helping you build your income, often many folds over.
His online-offline marketing tactic is pure genius. While most online marketers focus on the internet, he shows how to sell your ebooks to local businesses such as animal vets, car dealerships, and financial institutions in large numbers.
Hey, is Earn More, Work Less, Get Famous worth the time and dollars (only 2.99) you'll put out?
This is a fact filled book that is easy to read and absorb. I got the big picture in my first read and really appreciated the practical and proven techniques when I went over it the second time. It's highly recommended.
