An alright game in itself but disappointing after AC2 and Brotherhood.,
This review is from: Assassin's Creed: Revelations (Video Game)
This game was a rather large disappointment for me.
It felt like it should be a DLC for Brotherhood, in terms of length, depth and new features.
Abysmally short with a comparatively poor story and the upgrade/restoration features just weren't compelling unlike II and Brotherhood (You could only get 3 sets of armor in the campaign if you weren't focused on collecting all 100 memory fragments, the rest were pre-order and retail exclusives. The game also wasn't paced so that you unlock and can afford all the best gear by the last quarter).
It also seemed like they just tried to push it out as quick as possible to wrap up the story of Ezio/AltaÔr so they could get on with focusing on Desmond.
Revelations seems to be the first blunder in the series and the first sequel worse than its predecessor.
AC1 was pretty good, AC2 was awesome, Brotherhood managed to improve slightly on AC2 and then Revelations just seemed so flimsy and cheap after the last two solid titles.

Thanks for putting into words my disappointment. I'm on the last sequence, and this game has been a struggle to play. I love Ezio, but it's time to move onto Desmond fulltime. The story is not engaging me at all; filler is absolutely right.

Agree, the story is stale. Loved the last two but I'm just slogging through this release.

im sorry but i totally disagree with all three of you, your obviously not real fans of the entire series....im sure you guys are the type to want more killing and less leveling, i am only 16 percent done with the game and, without going much out of my way, I've gotten the forth armor upgrades and reached the 4th desmond "puzzle/memory sequence" true the story is slower than the other games with the exception of the first game, yet it ties much loose ends together and brings alot of new story plots to the table, casual gamers shouldnt even be playing these kind of games.....just saying

It's time to move out of your mom's basement Kyle. I happen to be a "real fan" of the series and yet share in the disappointment. This game simply does not match up to the rest of the series.

Well, it's not that Revelations is BAD, right? Is it at least worth a 5-day rental?

Even by itself it isn't as good as Assassins Creed 2 or Brotherhood. Probably worth a rental if you enjoyed the other AC games, if only for knowing the full plot so far.

Alrighty, I shall rent it then.

They should have used the wasted ( Blue Ray) space more wisely! Why would they put AC the first one on this disc? & it's still wasted space you still need the CD to play it. I think Greed got in the way of building a better Creed!
Please comment if you agree thanks. lll comes out tomorrow hope they've heard we the people:)

It was simply a rushed game.
