Excellent Addition to the GTA Legacy,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Grand Theft Auto V - Xbox 360 (Video Game)
As one can expect with the GTA series, the latest iteration lives up to expectations. Quality gameplay, impressive graphics for an aging Xbox 360 console, staggering amount of content, HUGE open world environment (but not burdensome/annoying), great dialogue, and improved variety.
One gripe I had with previous GTA games is the tediousness/repetition of certain mission types. Drive to Point A, cut scene, drive to point B, kill somebody/steal something, drive to point C. While GTA V follows this formula, the introduction of multiple characters and heists add a ton of value.
I particularly enjoyed the ability to switch between characters both in and out of missions. Each has an enjoyable background/story line, especially the Trevor character (you're in for a treat with this guy). Instant switching during missions allows for multiple angle involvement and exciting transitions. Outside of missions, if you're bored with a character or don't feel like driving across Los Santos, you can always see what the others are up to.
The heists are great and I wish there were more (which I expect from the online content and DLC). Essentially, you'll have a big job to pull off, with multiple missions necessary to set up the heists and multiple options available (e.g. loud vs. stealthy). Rockstar has gone so far as to include crew members with varying skills and correlating "cuts" of the job's "take". Overall, very enjoyable, exciting addition.
The storyline was great, and the amount of satire/subtle jokes in the game is astounding. Keep your eyes/ears open and you're bound to be entertained for hours.
Overall, highly recommend - I will likely purchase for PC as well to enjoy improved graphics once it is finally released.
Quick heads up to parents, this is NOT a kid friendly game.
