1.0 out of 5 stars Green almond paste?, April 23, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Love 'N Bake Baking Pastes, Pistachio Nut Paste, 11-Ounce Cans (Pack of 3) (Grocery)
If you want everything to taste like very strong almond, with a green color, then buy this. If you are looking for something that tastes like pistachio, keep looking. Since you can not return this, make sure that you really want almond flavor in a different nut base, otherwise you might be disappointed. Yes, it does have a puddle of oil on top, but that can easily be stirred in, like old fashioned peanut butter. The almond flavor is not something that you can do anything about.

Not the problem, it's the almond flavor that is not helpful or expected

i completely disagree with you and wonder how we could be discussing the same product. it has NO almond extract or almond flavor in it,or food coloring. It is just pistachios, sugar, oil. It tastes like pistachio, NOT almond. i think it a very admirable product and i use it to make fillings for truffles.

As i have written after another of your comments, this product does not taste like almonds or contain any almonds or almond extracts. only ingreds are pistachios, sugar, oil. Proof of the pudding is the deep green oil at the top. Taste it and it is a wonderful clean pistachio oil. the paste itself is a very muted khaki green from the nuts. If this product "tastes like almonds" to you, i think you must be very inexperienced with nuts, or be taste-impaired.
