New Battery.....Sort of,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As the other reviews have mentioned, this battery is a perfect fit original replacement battery for MBP laptops. Upon inspection, the battery has never been used and its cycle count shows 0 charges. The battery that received indicated that it was 1.9 years old using the battery health application. Lithium Polymer batteries, like this one are subject to aging that reduces their performance over time even if unused. So while this battery has not been used, I'm not sure that I'd call a 2 year old battery new. New Old Stock (NOS), would probably be a better description. Considering that this battery is half the price of what the Apple store charges, I think its a decent value for the money. If it lasts half as long as a "new" battery, I will have gotten what I paid for.

I am at 96.2% of the original max capacity of the battery, after 54 cycles. The capacity is around 5550mAh which is still a good capacity. I wouldn't expect the capacity decrease linearly over time, but we'll see.

Hello, I just had a "service battery" come up. I was looking into getting one of these batteries. Is it still holding up well after 3 months? Also, how are you testing your battery and finding out how many cycles and the percentage of original max capacity?

Holding up well after 3 months (94 cycles). I'm at 94% of the original max capacity ~5154mAh. Measured using the Battery Health application from the App Store.

Great review, thanks for keeping up with comments. Im thinking of getting one, did you buy "new" or "used"? If I buy used, what would be the difference? More initial cycle counts or just lower max capacity? Thanks!
