5.0 out of 5 stars Masterpiece, pure and not so simple, December 4, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Game of Thrones: Season 3 (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy) (Blu-ray)
Seriously the best thing I have ever seen on television. The reason I have HBO. If you have not watched this show, please do. Start with the 1st season and watch it all. If you love to watch a tale unfold and get lost in a different world and time you will LOVE this masterpiece!

Reviews are supposed to be specific to the DVD or Blu-Ray, which are not yet released, and for the third season only, not generic reviews of the series. Some excellent shows get terrible transfers to other formats; you cannot know ahead if the DVD version will be good or not.

The details of the DVD (alone?) set state that it will be "Full Screen". Seriously?

Wouldn't you growl even worse if book [Amazon reader] reviews dealt strictly with the quality of pages, print, binding and so on?

GENERIC reviews? Hmph.

This is even better on "film" than as literature, and that is exceedingly rare. I've read the first two books, and while I loved the first one, the second one started to be hard going towards the end. I will make another go at reading the whole series, but I'm following the third season now of the TV-series and I am avid for each episode. Cannot wait for the 4th season!! Lucky those who can now just buy the DVD's and watch at their leisure.

The best thing on TV and HBO since "The Sopranos".

Well no. The books are better and I've read all 5 so I know.

What worries me is that the show will drag on past it's sell-by date, and it won't come to an end. Then we'll be left with five or six seasons with no real conclusion.
