5.0 out of 5 stars Nice!!, September 17, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 3.5 Inch TFT LCD Monitor for Car / Automobile (Electronics)
Ok, Thing Works just fine. Good display. I got this for my DOD Gs600 dvr dash cam..

Only down fall is it comes with a power chord that plugs in and then has to be hard
wired into something for power. What I did was took an extra Car charger, usb kind, and spliced
it, connected it to the moniters power wires, plugged in the usb car charger, connected it to
the moniter and then the yellow and white chords to my dVR thing, and Bingo Bango, we got video..

Here's the deal, thirty bucks and a little creativity with no issues later. The screen in nice too!

or spend big bucks and have the same outcome.. thats all folks!!

I also got this along with the DOD GS600. After reading your tip about using an old car charger for the power source, I went looking for my old phone's car charger that I no longer had a need for until now! Did the same as you. Spliced the cord and connected the wires with some electric tape, then Bingo Bingo, we got video! I actually said this when the video first appeared on the screen!!! Thanks!!!!!!!

I was even luckier than you! I went into my junk box looking for a similar charger and found one that has a male end that plugs right into the camera power connector. No need for splicing!

SOrry I guess I am confused. This doesn't just plug into the cigarette lighter?

And it's very versatile, too. It's for both a car and an automobile. :D

This product will work on 6 vdc. All you need is a (4) AA battery case with a "ON" & "OFF" switch. I use it on my GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition along with the Feiyu handheld and built a mount for the battery case and the monitor on the Feiyu handheld. The monitor is video activated meaning that even when you apply your 6vdc to the monitor the screen will be blank until it receives a video signal from your camera.
