serious watch, serious quality,
This review is from: Citizen Men's BJ8050-08E Eco-Drive Professional Diver Black Sport Watch (Watch)
I've been wearing this watch for just about a year now. I've experienced no problems what so ever. Yes, it is big. Yes, it is heavy. If you take your watch off to sleep, it will make a thud as it hits the floor; but you have no reason to fear breaking it. I don't think I could break it. I'd have to use some kind of heavy weighted hammer and intentionally, deliberately, try to damage it. I've received compliments on it as well.

I have collected Citizen watches for about 16 years. In the beginning many watch places were getting rid of old back stock. Prices for very nice watches were often below $100 on Ebay. So I own many. Most are "eco" sun powered many are just beautiful. Saw this for sale on cruise ship. The Blue Angels model is so bulky used ones are common on Ebay. It is popular because it has many bells and whistles including eco. For me this model makes the too big Blue Angel model look tiny and thin. Show me all the watches that tip the scale at ONE POUND. Maybe it could go to depths that would crush your body, so can many of the Citizens I own and they are relatively thin and easy to wear around the clock with any attire. If I saw someone wearing this one, never have, I would wonder about them more than their watch. Nice watch for teenage boys who can toss this much money on macho symbols, IMHO. At least go see and try on the watch before buying it. Even the Blue Angel is too thick but much more popular. See first, LOL

Good points. Good comment. I didn't think of the watch as being a macho symbol, but I believe that makes sense. Given your expertise with Citizen watches, does Citizen make a model you would recommend that has an alarm function, as well as "eco-drive?"

Not everyone likes thin, small girly watches. I wonder about men that do. This is a great looking watch. 48mm is not bulky, and the watch looks great.

I like this watch. I am not a teenage boy. I do not have a 16 year old watch collection to brag about either. I can say that the watch commands attention. You can't miss it. It's rough like my hands. Heavy like my hammer. If you wear Carharts more than kakis with a crease you'll like the watch.

I, too, am not a collector of Citizen watches. I do, however, wear a Panerai that's roughly the same size-that's why I bought the Citizen as a proxy to wear during SAR callouts. Can't say anyone has ever refuted my masculinity due to the size of my...watch.
