Just what I wanted,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sony DVPFX980 9-Inch Screen DVD Portable (Electronics)I was a little skeptical about ordering this at first because of the other 2 bad reviews, but then I realized the reviews didn't really talk about the product quality, just that they didn't get what they thought they were getting. So, here is what I was hoping I was getting: 1. 9-inch screen 2. 4 hours of battery life 3. A clear screen 4. Good sound quality 5. An easy to use portable DVD player
That's it! It has what I was looking for at an excellent price! I don't think I could have been more pleased. The sound quality is great if you use halfway decent headphones. My son's only cost $20 and it sounds great with them. Just bear in mind that a portable DVD player isn't going to have the sound quality of a large TV. Although, it's still pretty good in my opinion.

Quick question? I bought this same player. But I am having trouble getting it to operate without being plugged into a wall outlet. How do I fix this problem? Does it work only on the battery once it is charged?

I have only used ours either fully charged, or if it's plugged into the car charger. I didn't even know you could use it while it's plugged into a wall outlet. I would just make sure it's fully charged first.

Hello! One more dumb question: Are all of the DVD player's functions available on the unit, itself? Or do you need the remote control for some functions? I prefer to have all functions on the unit. In my experience, the remote controls always break fairly quickly -- and they often take weird battery-types that are hard to find. Please advise, and many, many thanks for all of the great advice you're giving!

I've never used the remote. It seems the player itself has all the necessary buttons.

Does anybody know if these things are equipped with more than one plug for earbuds? I have 3 kids. Do I need one for each or can they all plug in?

Does this particular model come with a car charger?

I'm thinking of purchasing this for my 16 month old granddaughter, who gets stuck in a car seat for long road trips. She is too young for headphones or earbuds. Can you listen to this player without them? Do you ship to Germany? APO address?
