Great from the start,
This review is from: Kim Hill (Audio CD)
While I've been a longtime fan of Kim Hill, I hadn't gotten around to getting this 1st album. What I find most interesting about it is that, unlike some of her comtemporaries, her voice and style was readily apparent from the beginning. If you listen to albums of this era (late 1980's) from, say, Margaret Becker, it took a couple of albums for her to develop the outstanding voice and style that she would become famous for. Not so with Kim. From the 1st note of the 1st song, Black Shirt, there is no mistaking Kim's voice and style. This is a very good album with some soon to be famous names participating in it musically, such as Jerry McPherson, Brown Bannister and the aformentioned Margaret Becker. For even the casual fan, this album is well worth hunting for.
