5.0 out of 5 stars If you don't have a PS3 or want to upgrade, this is your deal!, November 10, 2012

This review is from: PS3 500 GB Assassin's Creed III Bundle (Video Game)
I've been an shopper for well over 4 years now, and I follow the Warehouse Deals section constantly, looking for the best value.

This package supercedes ANY deal I have ever seen for a PS3.

I've seen last years Black Friday deal for a PS3 bundle with less memory, minus the Playstation Plus trial, for $350+. I've also seen a 160 GB offered for the same price as this bundle.

You get everything in the Assassin's Creed 3 bundle that you need to play right out of the box, PLUS a 1 month Playstation Plus membership (which, in this owner's opinion, if you're a gamer at all, is a must-purchase for a year ($50). Just since March, I've gotten TEN retail games for free, $600 would have been the retail cost, even at $20 a piece that's $120. That's not to mention the various discounts and FULL game trials you receive as well, along with early access to demo's, and much more.

One note about this PS3 vs. the other models. The "tray" to insert your game/DVD is now on the top. No more sticking it in and ejecting it. If you've got nosy/playful children, they might get a little *too* playful and wreck this newer system. So take that into consideration when deciding whether to go with the 2nd model or this one.

Of course, this system also comes with Assassin's Creed III, which is a triumph in gaming. To be able to go back to an "alternative universe" with the American Revolution, but keeping the heart of AC beating, for 20-40 hours of gameplay (at least) along with post-DLC support is well worth the investment. And, if you're not an AC fan, just list it for $40 brand new and people will beat down your door to buy it!

Bottom line: If you've had your PS3 for a long time, or have one of the older models (ESPECIALLY the fat one, unless you have it to be able to play PS2 games ;), don't even hesitate. Unless this bundle is priced at $199 on Black Friday, there isn't a better PS3 deal around.

Nice review....but you left 1 thing out......PS3's are ''Upgradable''. I have an 80gb model from 2007 which has FULL BACKWARDS CAPABILITY. I had an issue with running out of hard drive space. I was down to about 5gb's left on my PS3. OMG WHAT DO I DO !?!?!? Well what I did was made a list of my options, and yes this 500gb Assasins Creed Bundle was on my list. But I still liked the OLD Version's of the PS3's better. WHY ? ( The Quality is Better Piano Black/Chrome Trimming, Stronger Built and more Durable). Plus you got FULL Backwards Capability and 4 USB Slots and 3 Memory Slot Readers as the NEW GENERATION PS3'S have NO Backwards Capability, NO Memory Slot Readers, and only 2 USB ports. So I did my research and found that I COULD UPGRADE my PS3 to a Bigger HDD and thats what I did. I now have the ''ULTIMATE PS3 SYSTEM'' with a 1TB HDD and FULL Backwards Capablity. What I did was I bought a 1TB 2.5 inch SATA 3gb/s 5400rpm Laptop Hard Drive ( which is the same speed and size as the stock PS3's ) . I went on YOU TUBE and put '' PS3 1TB Hard Drive Upgrade - COMPLETE Software and Hardware Walkthrough'' in the SEARCH BAR and that is the Video on EVERYTHING you need to do a COMPLETE HARD DRIVE SWAP and UPDATE to your PS3 System.

P.S. If you do NOT have a Playstation 3 I would suggest to buy this Assasins Creed Bundle because it is nice system THE PRICE IS RIGHT !!! n it comes with the MOST hard drive space offered by Sony to date. ( stock not modified) BUT IF YOU DO HAVE A PS3 Already I would suggest to buy a bigger hard drive because it is cheaper to do so. Your looking to spend anywhere from $75-$100 on Amazon. and the Sony Updates and Installation is SIMPLE !!!!! So choose wisely !!!!

Hello J,

Can you tell me some things about this new PS3?
1. Do the bluray discs and DVDs play good on it and can you watch as many as you want?
2. How does the picture look when playing them on it?
3. Do you have to upgrade some bluray discs sometimes?
4. Is the sliding door good or not?
5. How are the games? do they look great to play on it?

Please help if you can and thank you,
