This review is from: The Admiral's Daughter: A Kydd Sea Adventure (Kydd Sea Adventures) (Hardcover)
Julian Stockwin's latest Thomas Kydd adventure is his best yet, with the Kydd back aboard HMS Teazer in home waters playing cat and mouse with smugglers. Stockwin's portrayal of the craggy coast between Devon and Cornwall is well done, and should be, as this is near his home. Kydd's evolution from the fo'c's'le to the quarterdeck continues under a stiff breeze, while his relationship with Nicholas Renzi takes yet another tack. The Kydd novels are highly recommended to those who enjoy going down to the sea from the comfort of an armchair in front of a blazing fire.
