This review is from: Repeatability: Build Enduring Businesses for a World of Constant Change (Hardcover)
"I am an executive in a large Silicon Valley company and have spent most of my professional career in high tech industries. One of the biggest issues we all face today is the clash of increasingly fast moving and uncertain markets combined with increasing complexity of global businesses. One demands speed as a root cause of competitive advantage, while the other retards it. The company that can adapt and respond while managing complexity better than competitors will reap significant advantage. Challenges like these are altering the nature of strategy, making deep capabilities, and the ability to replicate and adapt them, more important than ever.
In "Repeatability" Chris Zook and James Allen have probed this dilemma and identified the "three design principles" that the most adaptable companies seem to be following in creating businesses that allow you to be more self aware, act faster, and adapt better to threats and opportunities. I think that the ideas and suggestions from study of the "Great Repeatable Models" in business hold real lessons for executives today wrestling with the challenge of speed, uncertainty and complexity.
