i've been misled by the title of the product,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Foscam Pan And Tilt Wireless IP Camera with 9bdi antennas 2 pack FI8918W (Camera)
first of all, the cameras are great and the price was right . .. but the title says "foscam new version FI8918w pan & tilt wireless ip camera + bonus 9dbi antennas - infrared night vision, 2 way audio, motion detection email alert, windows and mac compatible, black, 2 pack kit" . . . i never received the "bonus 9dbi antennas" (these antennas are clearly twice in length from the standard ones from the pic). . . after calling and sending some emails back and forth, they said they would send me the antennas . . pretty excited at this point, but really disappointed when i opened the package to see 2 standard antennas that already came with the cameras . . . i'm not gonna pursue this anymore b/c it's a waste of my time and the cameras seem to work ok considering they're pretty far from the router . . . part of the reason why i went with this purchase was because of the +9 dbi antennas and i didn't even get that, but . . .
the cameras are awesome for the price and they do a lot! . . . love the motion detection and the emailing capabilities . . . the email took awhile to set up, but dont' be afraid to look up how to do it . . . i got this so i can monitor my dog while i'm away and tried to get the mobile app that it came with to work on my htc g2 android phone but was too troublesome . .. downloaded ip cam viewer from the market and works great for being free or you can buy and get some additional features . . . interface on internet explorer is ok, not amazing or anything . . .
overall, i'm happy with my purchase but i wish the title was more accurate or at least follow through with what you offer . . . 2 stars because i didn't get my product as described in title but i like the product

did the vendor ever explain why there is a discrepancy?

After I got the standard antennas in the mail, I gave up . . . Trying to contact them (via phone and email) was troublesome . . . They don't reply right away . . . First response back was a week via email . . . I was very clear in my email to note that these were the +9 dbi antennas and not the standard lengthed ones . . . They still got it wrong . . .

I know this a bit old but did you try and contact amazon? If nothing else they probably would have sent a whole new set. I always try and go through amazon when the vendor fails because their customer service tends to be leagues above the rest.

I totally agree here. Amazon customer service is way better than their 3rd parties affiliates. Also look for items sold or shipped by Amazon.com instead. This way, you'll be able to exchange or return the defective items fast.

Foscam US Support says:
Movaro Official Foscam always provides the antennas. Be careful of which seller you buy from and only buy from Foscam authorized Amazon Sellers.

Mine was missing one 9dBi antenna. I complained and they contacted me right away and sent me an extra one for free. The seller stated that Amazon ships this for them from Amazon's warehouse and they arrive at the warehouse with 2 antennas. I think someone was taking the extra one off the package before it was being shipped as the seller stated that there were others with the same occurrence the week I spoke to them.
