5.0 out of 5 stars "Damnation and a Day" VS. "Nymphetamine", April 22, 2006
This review is from: Damnation & A Day (Audio CD)
In this review I will be comparing 2002s "Damnation and a Day" with 2004s "Nymphetamine." Since there sound is completely different on these records when compared to there early material. We are almost talking about two different bands. These two records are also a lot more popular. Anyway, I had the chance to see them tour for "Damnation and a Day" and the show was amazing, they had half-naked fairies with disc sanders shooting sparks 10-15 feet in the air, a fat gothic opera singer, they even had completely exposed male and female statues that started moving around stage half-way through the set, they were real people! Needless to say it was a memorable show. Now, i also got a chance to see them on there "Nymphetamine" tour as well. I had hyped the theatrics of the show up for my friends because i was expecting a similar if not better preformance. GOD DAMN was i wrong, lame stage props and no energy in the show, Dani [vocals] looked really fat, and opening act Arch Enemy blew them away! Taking these things into consideration when buying one of these albums is important, because the comparison i have just given you is relative to there integrity as albums. If you like Stormlord, Arcturus, or Ulver you probably already know who Cradle of Filth is, but if you don't, then i'd consider checking this record out.
