Awkward and Funny,
This review is from: Girls: Season 1 (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy) (Blu-ray)
I give Lena Dunham big points for being pioneerish with her comfort with her body which isn't the classic curvy or beauty variety(ironically her comfort in her own skin often makes her sexy). She has a willingness, even a drive, to explore the highly awkward, often in a raunchy way. Like passing a road accident, at times it makes you want to turn away, but like the road accident, you can't help but want to look and in this case you usually end up laughing when you do. Funny material, especially for the 20-something set. But most definitely not for the prudish. I take it as a good sign that the world is ready to enjoy her "intellectual-ish" post-post-modern bawdy humor.
