Fun Game Ruined by Controller Support (or lack thereof),
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Viking Battle for Asgard [Download] (Software Download)Played Viking: Battle for Asgard on my Xbox 360, and for some reason the game really clicked with me. When I saw the PC port, I thought I'd get it to play through again with the updated graphics, but unfortunately it seems the PC port was half-baked.
Annoyingly, the game starts up with a screen that says something along the lines of "Best Played with a Controller" and has a picture of the Xbox 360 controller on screen, but the controls aren't mapped properly. While playing, the game has a big Xbox controller-style "B" floating over a character's head, but hitting "B" on the controller makes the character jump like an idiot; they key I need to hit to interact with the character winds up to be "Y". Other places are like that as well -- hit "X" when prompts say to hit "A", etc.
Switching over to using they keyboard doesn't really help matters either -- the floating Xbox-style "A", "B", "X", "Y" buttons appear, and not the far-more-helpful keyboard equivalents.
Wouldn't recommend unless they patch the game.
