Social[ize] Media[crity] - A Brilliant Indictment,
This review is from: Social Media Is Bullshit (Hardcover)
This is truly an insightful, well-researched and thoroughly reasoned (and scathing) indictment on the absolute idiot-infused and empty buzzword-filled world of "Social Media" (an oxymoronic term when both words are synonymous with one another).
Brandon Mendelson has a bevy of first-hand, real-world experiences which led him to ask the question "What the BLEEP?" when we began the second tech-crunch bubble-burst and to put the pieces together in the puzzle which led to the answer that those who loudly tout Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc's "impact" on product sales (for example) is negligable.
Mendelson's jaundiced and well-educated eye - having been previously a consultant himself as well as the media director for an ABC-affiliate show (with over 40million viewers - see how important numbers are there?) and a syndicated columnist with CBS College Sports - is turned inward onto our rash of empty "social media" and the ludicrous buzzwords thrown around by 'Social Media Consultants' whose very livelihood is threatened by their exposure.
Sometimes? The emperor has no clothes - and that's something you can tweet about.
