5.0 out of 5 stars Great Micro SD Card set, May 27, 2008

Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kingston 2 GB microSD Flash Memory Card with SD and miniSD Adapters SDC/2GB-2ADP (Personal Computers)
I have been using this SD card for a GBA cart i have that takes Mini-SD's
which are a little more expensive so i decided to go with this card since it came with the adapters i needed

And all i can say is this is way better than the 1Gig San Disk Mini-Sd I have (not just in size but specs) that i got from walmart that was a little more expensive (like $3-4 more)

Size 2,012,000,000
Actual Size 1.87 GB (Storage Size)

The size and the actual size have to be the same. The "size" refers to the number of storage bits in the base 10 number system. Computers and cameras use the base 2 (binary) numbering system.

So if you had 2,012,000,000 discrete bits (base 10), you would say this is 2.012 GB (base 10) as you would divide by 10^9 (10 raised to the 9th power). To see this in binary (base 2) you would divide this by 2^30 so you would get 2,012,000,000 / (2^30) = 1.87382 GB (base 2).

So Size and Actual are the same. It's not like you "lost" 0.138 GB due to formatting.
