UPDATE: I am now down to 150 which is what I weighed in high school (a long time ago). I no longer feast/fast but the diet taught my stomach how much I really need to eat. I exercise but also drink wine/beer and eat well.
I learned about this diet in the Wall Street Journal on 12/3/13 "Short Fasts for Weight Loss vs. Traditional Diets". I first thought I was going to do the "5:2" diet but when I actually started I learned how easy it is to do the fast/feast day every other day instead of the 5:2. I started at 177 and am now at 165 after about a month's efforts. I even took four days off for Christmas and a few other days and have still lost weight. I like that this is based on actual research/science too.
I absolutely disagree with the one-star reviewers - this diet works and it is not difficult to do. Google Dr. Varady and you will find lots of research that backs up this approach. You will lose weight and see results on a daily basis. If you exercise (even moderately) you will lose even more weight!
