Fancy Stuff Pack,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Sims 3: Generations - PC/Mac (DVD-ROM)
I am disappointed in this expansion pack. It seems much like a small improvement in the actual game with no extreme additions. I feel like they are kind of beating around the bush trying not to repeat expansions from TS2(which were all great additions) and it's actually hurting them. TS3 is a great game and I have been playing since the original Sims came out so I was expecting more. There isn't even a strategy guide for it, which kind of confirms the fact that there wasn't enough new content to make one. It is nice when a new expansion comes out and adds a new twist to the game, now I have to wait for the next expansion for that.
Don't get me wrong, I do like the new additions to the game, but I wouldn't call it an expansion pack. If you are thinking of purchasing this expansion, I would wait till the price goes down so it will at least be worth the price.

I agree. This expansion did not have enough 'meat' to be an expansion. It is just a glorified stuff pack, even if I do like the elements of gameplay it added.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Thank you for this. I've been debating on whether or not to wait after being pretty disappointed with Late Night. (Late Night wasn't bad, but it didn't really expand the game well enough since it's difficult to have it all in the pre-existing neighborhoods.) I started debating because I've been finding the baby, toddler, and childhood stages really boring since almost day one and got excited thinking about how this EP changes those stages. I definitely will be waiting. :)
