Amazing DJ Mix, Moby keeps surprising me,
This review is from: Everything Is Wrong: Non-Stop DJ Mix (Audio CD)
Everything Is Wrong: Mixed & Remixed is surprisingly one of my favorite releases by Moby. After searching through the long list of singles and rare albums by him on Amazon, I came across this and read a few reviews for it. I was skeptical about it and skipped over it. A month later I was in a local used CD store that had hoards and hoards of old used techno CDs-and this caught my eye. Again, I was skeptical. It couldn't possibly be as good as his huge releases like Play or 18, but when I brought it up to the counter to listen to it I was shocked to find that it was more of an exciting listen than parts of 18, Play, or any one of his other CDs. Unlike anything I had heard by Moby, it had a real feel of continuity and flow to it that I hadn't felt from many other artists. Every song works as a perfect remix to its counterpart original and most times improves on where the original fell short. Within the first week I owned it I must have listened through the entire album (discs one and two) at least 20 or 30 times. Each disc has a specific feel to it-disc one is described on the back cover as "Hard Techno," "Joyous Anthems," and "Quiet Ambience." Disc two is "New York Hard House," "Groovy Acid," and "Melodic Trance." This is a rare treat and is what I consider probably the best buy I have ever made-an amazing double CD (2 full hours in length) for about half of the normal price. I urge you, if you have heard and enjoyed any of Moby's music such as "Everything is Wrong" then buy this immediately.
