After book four I have been waiting for the series to get better rather than worse. This book was another disappointment that is stringing us along. The author is worried about making money rather than a good audience. Zoey is becoming weaker each book, she is the youngest high priestess! stop underrating her P.C. Cast! You learn nothing new from this book and it never held the excitement I was waiting for.... I want it get better!

I would have to agree. As much as I love the H.O.N. Series I feel the books are getting shorter and more disappointing, especially this last one. I look forward to the next book though hoping you take advice from our feedback. :)

I totally agree with you. I'm sick and tired of her stringing us along all to leave us at a huge cliff. It's so frustrating that I've stopped reading the series and am currently waiting for her to finish the series for i can learn what actually happens! If you want something better to read try vampire academy by richelle mead or The black dagger brotherhood by jr ward its adultish, but hey i started reading it at 16 and still loving it at 18. lol

I would actually have to disagree. Although a lot of it is mindless teen-age chit chat, I think the character development is right on par and gives a sense of reality to the book. Of course it's fiction and is not real, but it makes Zoey's character relateable. Whether or not she is the youngest high preistess she's still a teenager. There is a quote about bravery - "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway." - by the good 'ol John Wayne (Steve Rae would be proud of this quote). It's not about Zoey being weak, it's about her showing her true emotions and going on anyways.

I agree that authors like to display the characters emotions but I believe that it is crossing the line of no return now. It is not displayed well at all. Also, it was not rated because of just Zoey herself, but the book as a whole; it should've been a saga rather than a "who knows how many books shes going to make now". And she could've made it a lot better, I believe that with novels, less is sometimes better...but authors are also trying to make the money so it's not always the case.
