Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cheetah Mounts APTMM2B TV Wall Mount for 20-75-Inch TVs Bundle with 10-feet Braided HDMI Cable and a 6-Inch 3-Axis Magnetic Bubble (Electronics)
This is probably the most unexpected failure in buying something from Amazon. Reviews seem to be amazing but here is my experience.
First of all, i have installed another TV wall mount (twice more expensive) and that one was very easy, sturdy, and had perfectly matched parameters.
Regarding this one:
- Instructions are ok but not as detailed as they should be
- Some extra pieces in the package which were not described in instructions at all (confusing)
- TWO VERTICAL RODS DO NOT MATCH EACH OTHER IN SIZE AND IN HOLE LOCATIONS - no way usable, i guess i was not lucky and got defective product.
- I wish it hadn't tilting function at all. When you tilt it if the TV is heavy it starts pulling the top horizontal piece putting all the pressure on the top screws
- Instead of smart top like construction on the bottom there are screws that you need to screw in after the TV is mounted - i found extremely hard.

I wasted my Sunday evening, ruined the wall, thanks to Amazon return/refund was easy and fast.

I do not recommend buying this product but the price is unbeatable and i'm sure most of the readers will just disregard my BAD experience, that's what i would do :) Good luck!

That's for the review about the mis-packaged parts.. sounds like junk there.

How did it damage your wall, did you install it with drywall anchors and they tore out? I'd expect a screw-in-stud to just snap the head off the screw, not damage the wall.

(yeah, looking at the picture it seems to come with some plastic anchors, but I can't help but wonder if those are intended for use in concrete block installations only. It's also got toggles too, but only 2 of them, for use with metal stud walls? Or do the instructions really claim you can drywall anchor the thing?)

The thing claims it holds 160lbs, that's only really possible of this thing is installed to a stud or concrete. Drywall anchors are great, but the won't keep up with a 160lb TV on a lever prying against it.

If the instructions suggest otherwise, they are gambling on your drywall being in mint condition and your TV much lighter, which is foolish.

The anchors are for concrete. The installation instructions were clear on that, in my opinion.

Engineer says:
I have the similar experience. Due to the TV heavy weight the TV is in Tilt position all the time.. I am sure that puts the top 2 screws taking lot of tension.
Once the tv is hung up, it was hard to screw in to the bottom of the frame. I left it alone.
Iam not sure if I leave the TV in like that for a long time. Wall will have 4 bad holes.

The company's customer service response to my request to replace a missing screw from the vertical wall plate brackets that was not in the box upon delivery; an item whose cost was pennies was especially troubling. Both the agent and service manager at the Cheetah Company refused to provide me with the missing screw until I left work and researched my paperwork at home to identify the customer order number. Whatever good will they could have enjoyed by immediately doing the right thing and expediting that replacement screw to my home, went out the window immediately and I will never purchase a Cheetah Mount product again. The replacement screw was easily obtained from the local hardware store. I suggest that you avoid the product.

I found the customers service to be horrible! They were every bit and less helpful to me. I too suggest you avoid the product!

Would you please specify the other TV wall mount that you preferred? Thanks.
