Metaphors for the sake of metaphors.,
This review is from: Wild Chickens and Petty Tyrants: 108 Metaphors for Mindfulness (Paperback)
This book is OK, with bits of good stuff dotted here and there. But this guy is writing metaphor after metaphor just for the sake of it. Its taking me a long time to get through this as a lot of what he writes, to me, is well meaning but pointless. There is not much gripping me here and obviously no climax as its just a series of metaphors, one followed by another. ALTHOUGH - there are appendices at the back of the book which are of MORE VALUE than the book itself as there is plenty of advice on how to meditate.
Dont get me wrong, this is an OK book, but thats where it ends.
With mindfulness, the thing to do is not read and read about it, but to just do it.
Im going to give this book a 4 star on the strength of the appendices at the back of the book, which can do a person a lot of good if read and applied.
