A Doggone Good Read,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Shot in the Bark: A Dog Park Mystery (Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
I picked this book up when it was free, and I'm glad I did! This is a tightly-constructed mystery with enough clues to satisfy the discerning mystery reader, but it will keep you guessing.
Synopsis: Lia is trying to figure out how to dump her loser of a boyfriend for the third, and hopefully last, time. Unfortunately, someone else has decided to give her a hand in a very permanent way. And all the clues suggest that the murderer is one of the "regulars" at the dog park where her and her ex's dogs are brought to play. Detective Peter Dourson has to figure out who the murderer is, before someone else dies.
This is a murder mystery and a romance all rolled into one, but the romance is light and does not detract from the mystery. The characterization and dialogue is very good and captures the reader's interest right away. There are a few grammar errors, mostly missing or improperly used words which were probably typos, nothing major and not enough to pull you out of the story. Well worth paying the modest amount that the author is currently charging.
