This review is from: Orthodoxy and Heterodoxy: Exploring Belief Systems through the Lens of the Ancient Christian Faith (Paperback)
"Orthodoxy and Heterodoxy", is an invaluable meditation on the subject of comparative religion. Fr. Damick, an Orthodox clergyman, sets about the task of contrasting the beliefs of Orthodoxy with other religious traditions. Fr. Damick (as we might would expect) has no qualms about asserting the belief that Orthodoxy is the unique repository of Truth. Yet refreshingly avoids any semblance of religious triumphalism. Instead he encourages us to reflect on how and where these various traditions intersect.
This concise reference also serves as a guide for understanding the schism of Christendom and the subsequent splintering along doctrinal lines following the Reformation. There is probably a better reference out there concerning this topic, but I am at a loss to think of one.
