Poor Quality DVD,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Hardy Boys: Season 3 (DVD)
Yesterday I received my copy of The Hardy Boys- Season Three. This release was a long time in coming. I've already watched the first three episodes and am very disappointed in the quality. It is obvious that absolutely no restoratiion efforts were made to turn this into a quality product. There is a "disclaimer" of sorts that states the content is from the best known copies available, or some such similar statement. The images are not sharp and clear. They almost look like they are copies made directly from a previous TV broadcast. Perhaps we have become accustomed to the sharp, vivid images we now see on our big flat screen TVs. A few years back I purchased all of The Daniel Boone DVDs when they wewre released. They remastered the entire series and the pictures were vivid and clear. They made comparisons for the viewer to ashow how the originals were all "washed" out looking. I guess that cost was a big considerationin this release. There are only 10 episodes and the market for them is probably quite small. But it is a shame that the quality does not at least match the first two seasons of The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew. Of course, all fans will be very happy to see the Hardy Boys back in action and have a complete set of all three seaons.
