Seems Like A Nice Bag, But Be Aware Of The Measurements,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Under Armour PTH® Victory Small Team Duffel Bag (Misc.)I just received this bag, so I cannot give any review of durability or use. It seems like a good bag for a good price.
I would have the buyer be aware of the true measurements of the bag, however. The webpage says the dimensions are 11.2 x 21 x 12 for 2,822 cubic inches of space. When I measured it, with responsible stretching, it was 11 x 18.5 x 11.5 for 2,340 cubic inches of space.
One can see that, while the individual measure comparison does not look like much, when converted into a volume measurement, there is a difference of about 17%.
This may not matter to many people, but I already have a duffel bag and I am using that bag's size as a reference point in looking for a different size bag. I am looking for a size to use as an informal week-end bag, and this item is probably too small to use for that purpose.
This supplier is not uniquely to blame for a measurement issue. I have found more than once that the measurements of flexible items on Amazon web pages are unreliable, though they have always been in the ball park. Further, if one supplier distributes an item, and then another supplier decides to offer the exact same item, if they don't give the exact same dimensions for the product, Amazon awards them a new ASIN identification number.
This may cloud reviews given for a product, because people reading the reviews of one product may not realize that they apply to the "other" product as well. Suppliers may even use this weakness in Amazon's system to introduce an item that has bad reviews on the page of another supplier. In surfing for briefcases, for example, I noticed that not all suppliers provide the manufacturer's model number for an item, which makes this possibility more likely.
