This review is from: Poppy the Proud (Bird Brain Books Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
Poppy the Proud is a wonderful picture book by Emlyn Chand.
Poor Poppy, he had always been the prettiest bird, and the one who received the most attention, until one day another beautiful bird, Snow, arrived. Suddenly, nobody seemed to care about Poppy anymore, and he was not happy. He decided that the others would like him better than Snow if he could change how he looked. But everything he tried just made the others laugh at him, making him feel even worse.
Poppy the Proud has so many great lessons in it - including teaching children that everyone is special and beautiful in their own way. The writing is perfect for the younger age set, and the beautiful illustrations by Sarah Shaw will help keep your little one engaged. My 5 year old loved it and reading Poppy brought about a conversation about bragging, friendship, and being special.
The author provided a copy of this book to me in exchange for an honest review.
