Perhaps the best anti-virus software on the market,

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is my second year with Norton 360 Multi-Divice. I don't see any difference in the 2014 version, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The 2013 version has been working just fine and seamlessly on my PC and Mac Mini. This version is no different. Norton's Optimized File Copy identified a file I downloaded as hazardous, but let me keep it (I trusted the source). I've had anti-virus programs that make it almost impossible to disagree with them about whether a file is good or bad. In this case it was a file downloaded to convert my Kindle Fire HD to Android, so it was built to go into an operating system's root directory and make changes. Such files can indeed be dangerous to your computer, so you have to know whether the source can be trusted.
In any case, if you have anti-virus software and forget it's there, that's a good sign--meaning it's not interfering with your work or play on the computer. Norton works quietly in the background and rarely makes an appearance. It never bugs you about updating or every little problem it runs into; it just does its job and lets me do mine.
