Excellent MFC printer,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Brother MFC-9970CDW Color Laser All-in-One with Wireless Networking and Duplex (Office Product)
Awesome printer! After waiting for three months finally I got this on a lucky day from Amazon for 549.00 (stayed on sale for 2-days) including free shipping. This printer is lighter than earlier MFC-CDW models. Setting up this printer was easy, detailed instructions for unpacking, installation of software, connection to wi-fi everything went on smooth, no issues. Set to toner saver mode, still the print both output for color and black/white looks sharp and crisp. Printing is faster. Also, I setup this printer for sharing from one computer, so that it is available for iPhone/ iPad devices (required installation of AirPrint utility for iOS devices for windows and / Mac available if you google on the web) for wireless printing from apple devices. Tested duplex printing, duplex scanning, and duplex faxing everything worked flawless. For toner it would be economical choose refilling rather than buying toner cartridges. Also, as suggested by another reviewer buying HL-4150CDN would be a great Idea which would be same cost as the consumables for this printer.

The referenced printer (HL-4150cdn) for consumables is more expensive than the individual toner cartridges at full price from Staples and Office Depot.

Where did you find the AirPrint utility? I went to Apple's website but cannot find it. Apple has a list pf AirPrint compatible printers listed but they are all HPs. I just received this printer and would love to be able to AirPrint from my iPad and iPhone.

I couldn't find it either. Neither Apple nor Brother lists MFC-9970CDW as AirPrint compatible as of March 7, 2012

D. Patnode says:
I don't think the reviewer meant 'get an utility from apple that magically adds direct AirPrint to the brother', but rather 'get a 3rd party utility for your mac so it can print serve for airplay when turned on'.
