1.0 out of 5 stars Xbox360 Walking Dead Game= Glitches, freeze ups, unplayable mess, December 14, 2012
By
This review is from: The Walking Dead - Xbox 360 (Video Game)
NOTE: THIS REVIEW SPECIFICALLY DEALS WITH THE PHYSICAL XBOX360 GAME DISC YOU CAN BUY OFF THE STORE SHELF AND NOT THE DOWNLOADABLE VERSION!

I bought this game with such high hopes after reading all the great reviews about the Xbox Live Arcade game this is based on. You see, for those of us who don't have high speed internet access for gaming, myself included, we are unable to download games. So when I saw this game came out as a standalone disc I could physically buy, I snatched it right up (not to mention I am an avid fan of the TV series)! Unfortunately, the first sign of trouble was 30 seconds into the game when the lag started! Then the freeze ups started happening at the worst times: right when I needed to defend myself from a freakin' zombie!!!!!! Not to mention the fact that the animation is super choppy most of the time too! Ugh! DO NOT BUY THE XBOX 360 VERSION IT IS BUGGY AS HELL AND ULTIMATELY UNPLAYABLE! No matter how good the outer package looks and no matter how good the computer/online game may be this Xbox console port is an unplayable glitch fest!!!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have high speed internet where I live so onliine gaming was not an option for me. That was why I was so excited when I found out I could buy this game off the shelf, not having and Xbox live account.

I understand. I was going to double-dip and buy the disc because I like "owning" my games. Then I heard from many sources, including yourself, of the performance problems of the disc and so I had to settle for the Internet option. You have my sympathies.

The game has been patched. I just finished Episode 1 without a hiccup. Obviously this doesn't help those without internet access, but those who can download the patch needn't worry. I'll update my comment if I encounter problems in subsequent chapters, but so far, so good.

I just bought the game yesterday and I didn't get a prompt at startup to update the game. How do I go about downloading the patch? Thanks in advance!
