Preferred to AT&T,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After being an AT&T customer for over 5 years and seeing rates increase time and again for 450 minutes no text/data, I felt like it was time for a change. I hadn't bought a new phone since 2005, so I figured it was also time for a major overhaul. A smart phone it was. My boyfriend has the iPhone and I had used it very often so I had a very good idea of what it was like. What kept me from getting the iPhone was the price of the plan.. it would've been roughly $120/mo. for the plan I wanted PLUS taxes.
I realized I would save more money overall with getting a Pre from Sprint and using their 450 Everything Data plan. I've had the plan since September and am extremely happy with it. Service is great, I even have a fairly decent phone signal in the DC metro tunnels. I won't get into the details of the Pre itself as this is only a review for Sprint's plan, but I will say that if you want pretty much all the options you'd get with an AT&T everything plan, Sprint's is absolutely comparable. AND costs less per month.
By the way, Sprint switched to Everything Mobile to Mobile- meaning you don't spend your minutes no matter what mobile carrier your friends are on. So you're saving even more minutes with the Everything Data plan.
EDIT: As of December 2009, the Everything Data 450 plan runs $69.99/month (not including taxes).
