This review is from: Transposes (Paperback)
So I'm not really a comic book guy or a graphic novel guy. Nor am I particularly interested in the trans, bi, gay community or whatever. I'm white and straight and boring in this regard. But I do have a friend who is not boring in this regard, and he pointed this book out to me. It's frankly a dear, sincere book that's remarkably endearing. It's clever and lovely and straightforward and funny. Which is nice. And it has a way of getting across something about how 'the other half lives', if that metaphor is appropriate. And it isn't. Whatever.
Also, there's a few pretty good jokes that populate the background. There's this one frame, for instance, where this guy has just had his world turned upside down and he's walking away from this diner, absolutely crushed. In the background, a loud, obnoxious cake store called "Cakesplosion!". Awesome.
