Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Olympus HLD-6 Battery Holder (Electronics)
I got an OM-D and was within a hair's breath of returning it because it was too small. I couldn't get a comfortable grip on it. Then the sales guy at the store where I got it let me play with one they had on display that had the grip mounted. What a difference. They didn't have any in stock, I guess they can't seem to make enough of them but as soon as I saw them on Amazon I pounced.

It can be used in two parts, just the grip and the additional battery pack.

My one gripe about this is that you have to take it off to remove the battery in the camera body to charge it. The external battery pack only holds one battery so there is one in the body one in the grip. The grip does have a jack for a 9 V charger that I've yet to see and I'm assuming this would charge both batteries without removing them from the body. Should probably read the instructions at some point.

Any how I'm very happy with this purchase. I think it is a bit pricy and probably in a few months you'll start to see cheap Asian versions, but in the meantime if you get the chance to try one, do and you'll be sold. It makes using the OMD a much more pleasurable experience.
