Do yourself a favor..,
This review is from: Suunto Vector Wristop Computer with Compass, Altimeter & Barometer (Apparel)
... and buy a GPS instead. I agree with previous reviewer (Dave57), I WOULD NEVER BUY A SUUNTO AGAIN. Worst than Dave, I simply got caught in heavy rain during a hike and my Vector was full of water, couldn't even tell the time. I send it to Suunto Finland for repair and they say that it leaked from the housing and "kindly" offered a repair for 140 Euros.

I have owned a Vector for 8 years and it is fantastic. I use it swimming, kayaking, sailing 5,000 miles, climbing and for general wear. It has been great with no problems exept the face does scratch easy. Also, after about 5 years, the o-ring that seals the back cover gets too big to fit back into the body when changing the battery. The case broke where the strap attaches today and I went on line to buy another and was shocked at a few of the reviews. Has been the best watch I have ever had but will buy yellow as my old Vecto is black.

Thank you for this comment. I am a little surprised about it leaking, since Suunto makes a lot of very reliable dive computers (scuba). Different specifications, I guess.
