This review is from: Chickenfoot III (Audio CD)
As I type this Van Halen is about to release their first album in many a year.
I've been reading a lot of trash talking online about what version is better.
The whole Sammy vs. Roth.
Chickenfoot vs. Van Halen.
And now we have Sammy with Anthony and Roth back with Eddie.
I'm not going to pick a side. I'm honestly thrilled that we have two amazing groups putting out music no one else is.
If you want the drama from both sides there's no shortage of it online.
It makes an interesting if somewhat immature read to say the least.
I had just read about Chicken lately and decided to buy the new album.
I still haven't gotten the first album but I will shortly.
If you loved Hagar era Halen this is the album for you.
I'm mostly a death metal head and have been since I was about 14 years old.
Once in a while it's so refreshing to take a break from the growling and the screaming and just hear some awesome rock.
Anthony's vocals are in top form as are Hagar's.
Satch brings the shred like only he can. Epic but with restraint. Flashy without being a showoff.
Solid drums lay an excellent background.
Anthony's bass completes the awesome.
Every song on here is good but my faves are.
"Three and a Half Letters"..........Sammy smokes on this one.
"Big Foot".......if you're not dancing in your chair you better check your pulse........you're not alive.
"Something Going Wrong"
And the packaging is brilliant.
Seldom do 3d glasses work but they made buying the physical CD totally worth it.
