This game just came out today, I am about three hours in. So much I like already, and it's different enough from the other Lego games to remain entertaining. I was worried when I heard about the voice acting months ago, but nothing to fear there; it's straight out of the movies, not some hokey sound-a-like, but with the typical lego sarcasm and/or charm added in with animation and other typical Lego game "speak" (hmm, mmhm, and grunts and such).
I very much like the open-world sort of format, lots of places to explore in addition to the levels, and there are side quests to boot.
I do have to say I have had one glitch so far, and had to power down the PS3 to reset it (controller locked, but didn't have to do a hard reset at least), but this is pretty typical of TT's Lego releases at first, they usually fix everything with a patch pretty soon. Just beware it could happen and try to save often to prevent frustration if you tend to lean that way.

Crazy Animated says:
One thing I noticed and am very glad for, is that they have added multiple places to save your game while in a level. I think this will make a big difference regarding the enjoyment people will have as, like you said, early on in these games' release they tend to have game stopping glitches.

Yes it seems like they are actively making efforts to make work-arounds for these issues. I've had two more problems:
One was Faramir somehow got stuck underwater in the marshes; like literally walking around on the marsh bottom underneath all the islands and not dying and not being able to jump high enough to get out. I just switched characters and walked far enough away for him to get pulled out. This is a new feature, your other characters will *poof* appear near you if they get to far away.
Also, as an Ent I got stuck on a ridge during the attack on Isengard, and couldn't switch to my other character to rectify it. At that point, I had to leave the level, but there was a save point halfway through the level, so I guess I'll see where it starts me the next time I turn it on.

So far I've had the game freeze 20 times, and I'm sure it will continue to freeze which means turing off the whole system and reboot. I doubt that it's my console cause I can play other games without this freezing problems. I also done other trouble shooting, and the game is still freezing. A game that freezes this much is more tedious than fun. I love the lego games, but I don't think that this game was ready yet.

Fortunately, I have had no other problems with the game. Guess it is hit or miss?
