Not a great Camcorder,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Toshiba Camileo X200 HD 1080p Camcorder, 12x Optical Zoom, 3" Touch Screen (Electronics)
Ordered the camcorder during thanksgiving and used it for two days and was not very happy with the performance. it does not have Optical Stabilization. It only has digital(Electronic) Stabilization which is not of much use.The picture quality is excellent and the Audio is ok.Did not test the Still images too much but seemed just ok when took a couple of photos.also please note that it does not have an internal memory. You have to buy a memory card. Here are my observations.
1)Excellent HD Quality.
2)Surprisingly its very good in low light conditions.
3)the touch screen controls are fine.
4)It has a swivelling touch screen which I like.
5)Comes with remote which is a great feature.
1)Focus is bad.It takes about 4 seconds to focus on an object especially during zoom in and zoom out.though it might not sound like too much, but you can clearly see the difference.
2)Missing Optical stabilization which is a very important feature. It only has Electronic or Digital Stabilization which is not of much use.The video woobles/shakes at higher zooms.A big negative.but for lower zoom levels, it just works fine
3)Battery life is not good. I barely recorded about 30 mins and the battery was left with just one bar remaining.
For the price, seems just ok. On a personal note,I would rather spend few bucks more and get a better one.

Battery life is way better than what I have now... You record maybe half of that and it's dead. If you shut it down on 1 bar it won't come back on, you have to charge it. It is the JVC Everio GZ HM35BUS. Here's the catch: that's it's only true con
