Drop The Baby,
This review is from: About Dogs (Hardcover)
It is very difficult to review a book of George Booth's cartoons about dogs (I think they are dogs!) after reading the four page introduction by Bill Cosby. George, has a drawing style and a sense of weirdness that is completely unique. Cosby, rambles on about an animated cartoon show he wanted to develop wth George doing all the drawings. Bill, writes in the same manner George Booth presents his cartoons in a very freestyle fashion and in a madcap sorta way it seems that these two guys are from another planet and letting us peek inside their world for a brief while.
There is nothing wrong with what George Booth creates and in my eye (only one of them works) I am viewing the works of a master. For decades now the New Yorker has published these gems and if I could only understand the punch lines of half of them I wouldn't feel like such a party-crasher when I'm looking at this book. George Booth is like Joe Montana or Jimi Hendrix as you only get one guy that does stuff like this to enjoy per a short (I'm planning on checking out at 108) lifetime. George, is way too good for normal-type humans so (for some cosmic reason I don't understand) I got lucky and can enjoy this wonderful li'l book over and over again.
This book contains strange stuff but, it is GREAT strange stuff!
