Great YA paranormal novel!,
This review is from: Bittersweet (Kindle Edition)I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my review.
I have to admit that I hedged between giving this book three stars and four stars for about twenty minutes before I actually settled on four stars. There are some pros and cons to the book.
Pros: Great YA paranormal book, with a variety of paranormal characters. The main character is a strong female role model, who is raising her younger sister and is the main care giver for her psychically (sp?) ill mother. The book imparts great moral and value lessons.
Cons: The editing is HORRIBLE. Most of the paranormal species in the book are only touched on, not exactly delved into with great depth. The story line sort of jumps around a LOT.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters. I felt that some of the characters really needed to be explored more and have more of a part in the book. The character of Mason specifically was completely ignored for the most part. The book jumps around and each scenario in the book only last a page or so. It makes for a quick read, but I really would have liked a more indepth look at the characters and each story line. Perhaps a little more history on people and past events.
I'd recommend this book for any young fans of YA paranormal fiction. It's very PG and great for anyone under the age of 18.
Happy Reading =}
