1.0 out of 5 stars Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..., June 12, 2008

This review is from: SanDisk Sansa Express 2 GB MP3 Player (Black) (Electronics)
for some reason i could not submit this review without at least 1 star rating...this product deserves -5 stars...i would not recommend the sansa express mp3 player to anyone...i have had mine for less than 6 weeks and already it is unuseable...the menu/power button has become stuck so it cannot even be turned on...i only used it 3 times a week so it failed with only 15 uses...a google search showed that other people had the exact same problem so it is not user failure but product failure...

I was enamored with this little device at first. It has a number of great features. I eventually bought a second. My infatuation has faded a little, but I still like the device.

I bought the first for my daughter as a gift for her 13th birthday. Got it for under $55 (shipping included.) At the time I thought this was a great deal. My sons birthday rolled around 5 months later, and I found the unit on sale at Office Depot for under $30. I snatched one up for him. Neither kid had an mp3 before. My son came to me a few months later complaining that he could not hear the unit any more. I found that the volume control button had become stuck. I was able to take the unit apart and repair this. So I agree that this device is flawed (cheap construction.) It could be though that he man handled it a little. My daughter's unit has not shown the wear.

I think this device deserves better than 1 star, and certainly not negative 5 stars. The concept alone deserves high marks. You can now buy this unit for $25. It's cheap. Maybe not the bargain I originally thought, but still a good value.
