Excellent series, but price gouging here,
This review is from: Maverick: The Complete Third Season (DVD)
In my view, Maverick is one of the five best television series ever made.
However, Time Warner is guilty of price gouging here. I purchased from Amazon the DVD set of the first season of Maverick on March 23, 2013, for $16.49. As you can see, the current price of $53.99 for Season Three is triple what I paid for Season One eight months ago. That shouldn't be.

To follow up...On Dec. 1, 2013, I purchased the Maverick Second Season box set for $17.99.

As a further update, I see that Warner Bros. is now selling this for 25% off, presumably because they are now offering the fourth season with Roger Moore, again at a very high price.

Out of interest, G A Russell, what were the other four series in your "5 Best" favourites?

HR, I'm flattered that you ask! Thanks!
Secret Agent with Patrick McGoohan
Right now, I can't remember the fifth. Maybe the first three years of Get Smart, when Buck Henry was writing for the show.

Thanks for your quick reply GAR. I very much agree with your first two (Secret Agent was called Danger Man in the UK) and I have happy (but faded) memories of The Rogues (getting it mixed up a little with Four Just Men, which had less comedy I think). What do you think of Spooks (re-named MI5 in the US)?

Hi HR! I've never heard of Spooks/MI5. I see that it is available at both Amazon and Amazon UK, and that it receives high marks from the reviewers.
One spy show I remember vaguely but fondly is a show called Coronet Blue. I've never seen it available on DVD. Maybe one day.

AMEN! Got season 2 for less than 20, then watched as price went "irrelevant" within days. But nothing matches the price ride for Nash Bridges complete collection ... from low of 60 up to 260 within the weeks since release. Think they use a random number generator for pricing!
