5.0 out of 5 stars What? She Can't Ride a Dragon?, November 26, 2011
This review is from: Penelope Moonswoggle, The Girl Who Could Not Ride a Dragon (The Forgotten Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
Why she can't becomes the story of what she does about it! This is a terrific read for young readers, boys and girls, who feel left out because they are different in some way from their friends - and who doesn't feel this way at times? Especially when you are twelve!! In the town of Altaville it matters whether or not you can ride a dragon, but in the Land of Forgotten Wishes, it matters not at all. The transforming power of believing drives this story of adventure, courage, friendship, and love, as Penelope encounters the forces of evil and good.

Rowe writes with humor and surprises, creating quirky characters to cheer for (and a few to detest). Colorful and threatening landscapes drive the plot's shifting moods and escapades - scary, despairing, gleeful, hopeful - as Penelope (and the reader) urgently seek success. Rowe is an expert story teller, ending the book with a life lesson learned - and a hint of return to the compelling Land of Forgotten Wishes in Book II.
